About us
The main aim of our company is to recruit volunteers and participants to take part in hugely valuable projects so that not only will you benefit from the knowledge and rewarding work that the projects offer, but that the projects themselves benefit from your participation. Your support is vital for the survival of many habitats and animals in Africa and each project has been handpicked by us for the quality of the educational program, the passion of the teams and their dedication to conservation and wildlife.

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. Linda (from the Netherlands) came to South Africa as a volunteer in 2003. After this amazing experience, she had the opportunity to return to South Africa for one year to work as a project assistant at one of the wildlife volunteer projects. During that year she met Dave (South African), who worked at the neighbouring nature reserve. What started of as a holiday romance resulted in a wedding not long after. Dave and Linda now live on their farm close to Kruger National Park (Limpopo provence) in South Africa. A dream come true for both of them, living in the bush with a stunning view of the Northern Drakensberg mountains.
Kameleon Adventures was brought to life in 2004 by Marjolein van Dieren (also worked as a volunteer and project assistant). She asked Linda to become Kameleons representative in South Africa. Linda has always enjoyed this work. Besides being Kameleons representative, Dave and Linda now manage Kameleon Adventures since November 2007.
With our passion for the bush, wildlife and its conservation, and with our combined experience as traveller, volunteer, project assistant and field guide, we are convinced that we can help you create your own awsome experience in South Africa. Our bush is amazing, the people very friendly and there is just so much to do and experience...but there is nothing better than to share all this with others!

When you participate at a wildlife project, you expect that this is where your money goes. We don't use any other agents to promote our projects. We arrange your program directly with the project leaders, therefore more money goes to the projects while you save money at the same time!

Even though we are a young company the people and the projects that we deal with have many years of experience in dealing with volunteers and guests (both young and young at heart) as well as the wildlife and conservation aspects. We make sure we personally know the projects leaders and frequently visit them and, where time allows, take part in the courses. We want to truly know where we are sending you, why they are offering volunteer placements (if applicable) and whether the projects offer value for money. In short, we want to know that they are up to scratch! This is something that we felt was overlooked by other organisations.
Besides that, we offer a lot of detailed information about the projects on our website. If there is anything you feel we haven’t covered then please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

- We only send you out to high quality projects, handpicked and experienced by ourselves.

- We work directly with the project leaders in order to keep communication between them, you and us as straight and swift as possible.
- We assure you that the bulk of the money you pay will go to the projects you attend, thus aiding conservation, preservation and the welfare of the animals.
- We provide you with a detailed pre-departure pack which we hope helps to answer any questions that may arise once you start getting everything together for your travels.
- Once you are in South Africa we have a Kameleon representative in the immediate area who is available should you need any assistance out in the field.
- We aim to make sure that you are fully briefed and prepared before you leave home ensuring peace of mind for your family and friends.
